Round Robin Club Card!

This cute card was made by my awesome neighborhood stamping club gals! It was a round robin card where I sent just a blank cardstock card to the first person on the list, they added something to the card and then passed it along to the next person on the list. By time it got all the way through everyone in the club, it looked FANTASTIC and was a completed card ready to go!!! I just love all the special touches each gal put on this card and it's decorated inside and out and came with an envelope (decorated) too! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leaving this morning for CONFERENCE!

We played golf yesterday at the new Lonnie Poole Course at NCSU! It was our last 'family' time together before I leave for Tastefully Simple's National Conference this morning. I get back Sunday evening and we move my oldest son to college at NCSU first thing Monday morning! I kinda wish I wasn't leaving for conference so I could savor these last few days together with life as we've know it for the past 18 1/2 years ... but life must go on and we need to embrace the new chapter in our lives! We are so excited for Brandon and know that he is entering one of the greatest times of his life now. He'll do great ... AND, I need to remember that he's only 45 minutes away in Raleigh, NOT in California!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, he is keeping his job here at the golf club in our neighborhood on the weekends, so at least I'll be able to see 'my baby' once a week. I know he'll arrive home with a pile of laundry for good old mom to take care of and have an empty hand out for dad to fill it up with moolah!
Stay tuned ... I'll announce all the NEW Fall/Winter Tastefully Simple products here next week after I get back in town and have a chance to settle back in to a routine!
Until next time ... HAPPY STAMPING!

Cute Little Gift!

I leave in two days to head off to Minneapolis, MN to attend Tastefully Simple's annual National Conference - yippiee! Each conference I've attended over the years, I always bring some sort of hand stamped gift for the President and CEO of Tastefully Simple, Jill Blashack Strahan! Here is this year's gift for Jill! It's an adorable, tiny 'purse' made with the Big Shot Top Note Die and decorated with embossing folders, DSP, punches, eyelets and ribbon. The cards included inside the purse are 3 x 3's and include the sentiment from the NEW Razzle Dazzle stamp set and the new modern punch. I topped each card off with some pretty ribbon - polka dots and organza. I used a bit of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP on the flaps of the envelopes. I think Jill will get a kick out of this year's gift ... what do you think???

My Time To Create Inspiration Challenge #5!

It's time for another My Time To Create Inspiration Challenge from Lauren Meader!!! Here's a look at the inspiration photo:

Isn't it simply YUMMY??!!??

Exciting news!!! Lauren will be showcasing the Top 5 challenge entries each week on her blog in a feature called "My Time to Shine". Be sure to play along for YOUR chance to shine!!

You can view all the details of Lauren's Challenge HERE! I am absolutely in LOVE with this challenge ... these colors just 'speak to me'! Those little aprons lined up on the clothes line are so adorable! I used to hang clothes out on the line when my boys were babies ... they always smelled so fresh and lovely when I pulled them down at the end of the day! Unfortunately, the neighborhood I live in now does not allow clothes lines, so I'll have to live vicariously through Lauren's beautiful picture!!!

The colors on Lauren's challenge reminded me of Stampin' Up!'s Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink. This cutie-pie ice cream cone reminds me of everything summer! The glitter looks like sugar sprinkles ... the cherry on top has a 'stem' picked from something I found out in the backyard laying in the grass! All those scoops of 'ice cream' with their yummy colors are sure to be a cool and welcome relief on a hot summer's day ... it's 100 degrees here in Chapel Hill, NC today! I think we'll have ice cream for dinner tonight! What do you think???

SCS - LSC232 Friday Challenge Projects!

I have two submissions for today's Split Coast Stampers Friday Challenge - Limited Supply #232! The challenge guidelines required you to make a card or project using only colors that have food names (yum!) and using stamps with food in them too! What fun!!
The first card is made using Stampin' Up!'s new host set entitled The More the Merrier! Cardstock colors used are: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Whisper White (allowed) and Razzleberry Lemonade DSP ... so cute!
The second project will count for two challenges - today's SCS challenge and my own personal August Club Challenge! This is one of Lauren Meader's My Timeless Templates called Pack a Picnic (one of my all-time favorites!). Stamp sets used are Tart & Tangy and Teeny Tiny Words. Cardstock colors used are: Kiwi Kiss, Melon Mambo & Whisper White.
You can view My Split Coast Stampers Gallery HERE!
Enjoy :)

Pretty in Pink For 'My Friend'!

I was blog hopping this morning and saw Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply "FRIEND" Challenge HERE! I had just made this card the other night when I got together with a few stamping friends and thought it would work perfect for the challenge! My good stamping friend, Cathy, is the one responsible for the inspiration for this card ... she is a stamping goddess!!!! It's so soft and pretty ... right up my alley!

A BIG thank you to Sharon for all her technical support this morning ... she had to walk me through linking and what not. I'm so technically challenged -- it stinks!

Thanks to all and ENJOY!

More Birthday Wishes!

I'm telling ya' those SIMPLY SCRAPPIN' KITS are FABULOUS!!! I've been working with an old one that retired with the last catalog using the retired in-colors. I've made 30 cards so far using the Simply Scrappin' Kit, some Whisper White card stock and some embellishments AND ... the kit still contains MORE sticky cuts, Designer Paper and colored card stock paper!!! What an economical way to make up a ton of cards quickly too ... no stamping involved unless you want to! I was assembly lining these birthday cards to replenish my stock, so I didn't stamp on any of them ... just cut paper, stick on a sticky cut, tie a ribbon or pop a button on and wha-la - done!

Tons of Birthday Wishes!

Yesterday was SUCH a GREAT DAY!!! I spent a good portion of the day working in my stamping room creating and having a great time and then I attended a stamp night that my friends and I host once per month. We just get together at rotating homes, eat great snacks and STAMP ... or just socialize!!!

Thanks to my friend, Anne, for hosting last night. I enjoyed all the yummy snacks (some from Tastefully Simple - yeah!!) and stamped until my hear was content!

I made one beautiful pink card (post below) with the assistance of my friend, Cathy, and I was able to complete 16 birthday cards using an awesome Simply Scrappin' kit and some left over 'in color' materials.
It was a GOOD DAY and a GREAT NIGHT!

Here is another one of Lauren Meader's AWESOME My Timeless Templates! I made this 'From The Desk Of' desk organizer for my college-bound oldest son who is off to NC State University in just two short weeks (sigh)! Isn't it cute??? I can't say that he was 'over the moon about it, but he did appreciate the time and effort I put into making it!! My sons just don't share my passion for paper crafting!!

Tea Party!!!

Well, the long-awaited day for the Tea Party finally arrived today!!! After months of planning and anticipation, I shared a lovely afternoon with a few of my close friends over tea and treats! Thanks to all who attended and to those that brought goodies, gifts or contributions. A HUGE thank you to my co-host, Cathy, for making the day possible and SO special! Everything was so pretty and tasted fabulous! The afternoon went by much too fast!
Each guest had a 'Stampin' Up!' place setting ... which included a handmade napkin ring, name card, printed menu and treat box to take home! The boxes contained home baked Citrus Almond Tea Cookies, various selections of flavored teas and speciality chocolates.
