Still Crazy about those Cupcakes!

This is another version of the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set that I just adore! I used the Scallop Circle die from the Big Shot to create the card. I then used the new Circle Scissor Cutter to cut out a few different sized circles, layering them. The middle is stamped with that adorable cupcake tier on the stand and colored in with blender pens. I added glitter to the icing, a ribbon on the top and ta-da! CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!!! What do you think?

This is a gift I made for one of the gals on my Tastefully Simple team who is also in a stamp club with me! She had her second baby girl in March and I just loved creating this girl-y, pink, adorable little cutie-pie item! This is one of Lauren Meader's My Timeless Templates - Captured Card Case - from March. It was the perfect size to fit a tiny, decorated and embellished onesie and a tiny baby sock which can be used as a Tooth Fairy sock!
This was also a challenge my demonstrator gave out to us for this month's club .. to make something that was a non-card item using 3 colors -- my colors were Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White!
The card was cased from an idea I saw on Jill Hillard's blog a while back. I can't say that it was easy to make, but I don't have many occasions to make baby cards (I hang out with the 40+ crowd!!!), so it was fun to make just this one and give it away!
The onesie was all embellished with pink satin roses, ribbons and a Wimpole Street doilie that says "Love" ... I thought very appropriate for such a sweet little angel!
I enjoyed making this gift very much and I hope it will be enjoyed by both the mommy and baby who it was given too as well!!!

I'm Back!!

I've received a few notes from some of you asking where I've been lately - MIA!!! I'm sorry for not posting in what seems like ages! Life has gotten in the way! My hubby and I went on a lovely cruise to Nassau, Bahamas - one that I earned free through my Tastefully Simple business - last weekend! That was such a treat ... first time for the both of us on a cruise and the first vacation he and I have taken alone in 18 years! WOW!! We were due!

I was so happy to return home and find the kids perfectly safe and okay, the house still standing and the pets happy as can be! This was the first time we have left the boys (18 and 17) home alone while we left ... not to mention left the country! Everything worked out fine, but as you can imagine, Mommy was fretting about everything!

I spent most of the day before we left on the trip grocery shopping and cooking tons of food for them to eat in my absence. You know me, I LOVE to feed people!!

It was good to get away for 4 fun-filled days, but wonderful to come home again too!

Okay ... now onto the important stuff -- let's see some posting here!!!

Easter Treats from a Friend!!

Aren't these little treat bags so sweet? My friend, Joan Davidson, gave them to all attendees at her Easter Sunday dinner party! They were filled with homemade lemon biscotti, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate Easter egg candies - yum! The stamped tags were so cute - very springy and cheery! The table looked so pretty all decorated up with these treat bags and the food was fabulous-o!!! Thanks, Joan!!!

And ... MORE Easter Basket Treats!

Had to drive my sons to a golf match in Graham, NC today and since I'm still desperately trying to recover from a sinus infection, (found out the antibiotic I was on all last week would not work against the strain infection I have, so had to refill another prescription for a different antibiotic today - UGH) I didn't want to be outside breathing all the pollen and junk in -- plus not enough energy to walk 9 holes ... SOOOO, I brought all my stamping stuff to the golf course, plopped myself in the clubhouse and spent 3 blissful hours in stamp heaven creating some more adorable Easter baskets to share with my club members! Aren't these cute? I filled these with mini jars of Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread (8.5 oz. jar for free with any $50 order of Tastefully Simple products in April!) - YUMMY!

Totally ADORABLE Easter Basket Treats!

These are what I worked on at our stamping night of fun last night!! They are gifts for my valued club members for Easter and I'll be handing them out at the clubs this week leading up to the holiday! I used the NEW oval scallop punch to punch out the 'Easter Wishes' sentiment. The baskets are made with SAB Delicate Dots paper, filled with irridescent shred (so pretty!) and filled with a little treat packet of FOR THE LOVE OF COOKIES ... Tastefully Simple's NEW Chocolate Toffee Almond Cookies! For each box of cookies sold, Tastefully Simple will donate $1 to 'Share Our Strength' - a not-for-profit organization to benefit ending childhood hunger across America!
Cute baskets, yummy treats and benefits to hungry children - WIN/WIN all the way around!

I've had a few requests to post pictures of what we made at the Sale-A-Bration Stamp Camp here at the end of March ... so here you go ... ENJOY!

Tastefully Simple's newest meals are so GREAT! We have three:

  • Pasta and Pomodoro Sauce Mix
  • Linguini and Clam Sauce Mix
  • Asian Zen Noodle Sauce Mix

For last night's stamping fun here, I made up a large bowl of the Pasta and Pomodoro Sauce Mix. Very easy ... cook the pasta, add the sauce mix to 28 oz. crushed tomatoes. When pasta is cooked, drain and add to sauce mix. I tossed in a small package of frozen meatballs and cooked up a batch of our Perfect Parmesan Biscuits for on the side. Yummy-oso!!!

These meals are a great way to put a homemade, nutritious, hot dinner on the table for your family -- even on those nights when you will be away or too busy (or tired!) to cook! They are MUCH better for you than 'take out'. Each meal will feed 4 - 6 people, depending on what you add into them. They feed my family of 4 (two large teen-aged sons) with another portion left over for lunch the next day!

They are economical too! These days when we are all pinching pennies and watching the budgets, Tastefully Simple Meals are a wonderful way to stretch your family's dollar ... take out can be so costly and unhealthy. Lastly ... our meals are very 'kid friendly' too! Kids love the curly shaped noodles in the Pasta and Pomodoro Sauce Mix!

The MOST YUMMY Cake Ever!

I hosted an extra night of stamping at my house last night and the dessert I made was a huge HIT! It was so SIMPLE ... Tastefully Simple in fact! I took an Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix and made according to the directions on the box. Then I added 1 Tbsp. of our NEW Meyer Lemon Oil to the batter. I put half of the batter into a greased bundt pan. Then I layered in the middle of the batter some of our Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread and poured the remainder of the batter on the top and backed for 55 minutes.

After the cake cooled, I inverted it onto a cake stand. The glaze for the topping was about a cup of confectioner's sugar, 2 Tbsp. Meyer Lemon Oil and a smidge of water to make a glaze! I drizzled this glaze on top of the bundt cake and ... WHALA! It was a pretty presentation and so, so scrumptious! I'll never look at the Almond Pound Cake the same way ... I just LOVE that stuff!
