Tomorrow's the day ...

The Paper Sweeties are coming August 1st!!!

Well, the time has finally arrived that I can let you all in on a little something I've been working on 'behind the scenes' since June of 2010!  I came up with the idea of designing some acrylic stamps of sweet little dolls with adorable interchangeable outfits and it's taken me this long to get things off the ground!

I spent a lot of time researching what it would take to get my designs from concept to production.  Then I spent a good amount of time trying to find just the right illustrator to make my visions a reality.  In the end, after working with several illustrators, it was not coming together as planned, so during the spring of this year I decided to give designing a try myself ... and I'm so glad I did!

I'm very pleased to say that I was successful in teaching myself to draw the illustrations on my own.  What they say is very true ... when you have the right equipment, it makes life easier!

I was blessed to find a very talented web designer who created the most amazing web site for my shop ... so adorable and sweet -- lots of pink and cuteness -- a great compliment to my little Paper Sweeties!  He also created a Design Team blog where the Paper Sweeties designers and I will be sharing pretty little things we create along the way to help inspire you too!

I've also been blessed with the most supportive friends who have encouraged me along the way to never give up and go after my dream.  I would be remiss if I didn't thank Susan, Joanna and Lauren!  I also want to thank my son, Brandon, for his technical support and my husband for his never-ending support and 'you can do it' attitude :)

Then the real work began ... in May of this year I began to illustrate my design concepts and submitted them to a stamp manufacturer for production!!  It was like  Christmas morning when the first packages arrived with my little Sweeties in them ... what a proud moment ... I'm a very proud Mama!

Much more work behind the scenes over the past three months making everything come together in order to launch the company on August 1st ... meetings with printers, designs for sleeve inserts, shipping research, contacting manufacturers for bags and mailers.  I never imagined how much work it really takes to launch and run a company ... but in the end I am so tickled with everything and cannot wait to share my Sweeties with you all :)

Then, the big task of choosing 'just the right' designers to join my design team ... oh my shabby goodness, wait until you see who is on the team and what they have designed for your inspiration.  Truly a wildly talented group of artists and I'm beyond excited that they all accepted my invitation to design with the Sweeties!  You're in for such a treat each month when you see their work!

So, tomorrow is the BIG day!  I'll be back here first thing to announce the Creative Design Team Artists as well as share links with you for the Paper Sweeties Shoppe, Facebook Fan Page, Flickr Group and Pinterest Boards!

We will be doing a bit of a staggered release in August to introduce you to a couple new sets each day on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of the month.  The Design Team will be sharing projects on their blogs on the 1st, 14th, 15th and 16th.  Our full release will happen on the 15th of the month.  We will be offering FREE SHIPPING for our grand opening special on August 15th and 16th.  We will also be offering a prize of two free stamp sets of winner's choice to those who 'like' our Facebook Fan Page, so be sure to check back here tomorrow for all the links!

I'm so excited to share my dream with you!

See you tomorrow ... and until then, happy stamping my friends!

Hugs!

The Kraft Journal #82!

Hello sweeties and welcome to The Kraft Journal #82 - 'Use Any Sketch'!

I chose to work with a fun sketch from Mojo Monday :)

For today's 'Use Any Sketch' challenge, I began my design with a base of Lunch Bag Kraft Card Stock onto which I layered some blue card stock.  Next I cut four squares from pretty patterned papers and layered some goodies from The Kraft Outlet onto them:  X-Small Grungey Prim Tag, Burlap leaves, Victoria Seam Binding and Office Chipboard Buttons

To finish my card, I stamped a sweet image of a doll with her bunny onto a piece of Buff Ivory Card Stock and stamped the sentiment onto the X-Small Grungey Prim Tag.

I think this card turned out adorable ... one of my favorites -- so girlie, whimsical with a bit of homespun charm!!  What do you think??  The {sweet} little doll image is a preview of a line I will be launching on Wednesday!  The doll is 'Sophie' and the stamp set is called 'Some Bunny Loves You'!  I've been working on the design concept for this stamp line for two years and can hardly wait to show everything to you all ... check back here tomorrow for more details and then on Wednesday for the BIG LAUNCH DAY of the brand new website!!!

Please be sure to stop by The Kraft Journal Blog to check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the teamies today ... and then I sure hope you'll have time to give our 'Use Any Sketch' challenge a try for your chance to win some delicious goodies from The Kraft Outlet Shop!!

Let the August My Time Made Easy Peeks Begin!

Hello friends!!  Welcome to the first day of peeks for the My Time Made Easy August Release!  I'm so excited to share my projects with you!!

 Introducing ... Grammy's Sewing Kit!

PRECIOUS ... right??!!  LOVE!!!  This template looks intricate and involved, but it couldn't be easier to assemble - one large box and two small boxes - easy peesy!

I used a combination of Buttons 'n Bits and Grammy's Pretty Patterns paper to decorate the outsides of my boxes ... and then added a sweet felt blossom with stitched leaves!!

The smaller boxes cantilever out to reveal the inside of the large box ...

... perfect for holding all kinds of treasures!  For my project I cut four Ribbon Card cut files and wound some pretty pastel organza ribbon around them.  The four card spools fit perfectly inside the large sewing box bottom.

I added some sweet bits and bobs of butterflies and blossoms to the smaller boxes and viola ... the perfect gift for a crafty friend!

I created a matching card to go along with my sewing basket gift using the Spool of Thread cut file - so cute!!   I decorated the front of the card using several images from the Grammy's Sewing Kit Digital Stamp Set as well as the Monogram's Defined Acrylic Stamp Set.

Some inking around all the edges to create a time-worn look and the addition of some pretty Pomegranate satin ribbon, a paper doilie and a couple more felt blooms, leaves and buttons complete this sweet card!

And there you have it my friends ... a gift pretty enough to give -- or keep!!!  Mine is going to a dear neighbor friend of mine who pet & house sat for us the past couple of days while we took a quick three-day trip down to GA to visit our youngest son.  He is working down there for six months on an internship program for college ... I miss him so much!  My neighbor is a paper crafter/quilter and I am sure she can make use of these craft and sewing supplies and will really appreciate this sewing themed gift set!

Be sure to hop on over to check out the inspiration from some of the rest of the teamies today:

The Kraft Journal #81!

Hello sweeties and welcome to The Kraft Journal #81 - 'Make Me Smile'!

For today's 'Make Me Smile' challenge, I began with a base of Lunch Bag Kraft Card Stock.  Next I added a pretty Post Card with inked edges and bit of machine zig-zag stitching.  A paper doilie, scalloped card stock border and a length of seam binding were added on top of the Post Card.  I created a pretty little nosegay by die cutting petal shapes from some Vintage Dictionary Pages and scrumpling them up.  I added a Mini Bottle Cap for the center of the flower along with a pearl, made a couple of leaves out of C-Flute Kraft Tiles and added a seam binding bow.

Last, I stamped a sweet little doll image and adhered a pennant flag in her hand made from a Banner Chipboard piece and a Black Banner Sticker.

This card makes me smile ... how about you??!!??  The stamped images are previews of sets I designed for my new stamp company launching on August 1st called Paper Sweeties!  The sets I used here are Emma and You Make Me Smile ... stay tuned for all the exciting details!
