My Time Made Easy .... Berry Sweet!

Welcome to PEEK DAY for the My Time Made Easy April Release - YIPPIEE!  Spring has sprung in many parts of the US and berry pickin' season will be right around the corner!  I love to pick fresh strawberries and blueberries and make jellies and jams!!  One of my fondest childhood memories was going blueberry picking with my grandmother and brother ... I think we used to EAT more than we PICKED!

So, my project today is inspired by those fun childhood memories ... blueberry pickin' and giggling the afternoons away ...  introducing the Berry Sweet Basket!

I created my basket in pink (I know, shocking!!) to contrast against the deep blue in the blueberries!  I added a sweet bingo card, some glittered leaves, a sparkly flower, paper doilie spritzed with pink glimmer mist, a glittered flourish, a pretty chipboard butterfly, some lace trim, satin flowers, buttons, rhinestones, a trinket pin, baker's twine and a sparkly binder clip ... oh my!

The label is made using the {new} Occasional Labels cut file, {new} Occasional Labels stamp set and the {new} Sentimental Occasions stamp set -- love 'em!

This adorable basket is sweetly filled with the cutest little paper 'blueberries' that you've ever seen! I made them using the {new} Apple A Day cut file along with some {new} Love Defined paper for the leaves!

This sweet little basket of yummy handcrafted treasures will surely brighten someone's day ... my mouth is watering just looking at all those berries!!!

No gift set is complete without a coordinating card ... I carried the same colors of pink, white and navy blue for the card.  I used the {new} Occasional Labels cut file and {new} Occasional Labels stamp set along with the {new} Sentimental Occasions stamp set and Monograms Defined stamp set!  A yummy bit of Ga Ga For Gingham paper and post card from Cool Romance paper, and a snipett of the Border Builder Scallop Dot cut makes this sweet creation so yummy!

And a tiny snipett of Vintage Winter White Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop finishes off this pretty little card!

And here is my oh so pretty in pink gift set ... precious, don't you think???   It was SUPER FUN to create!

The Shabby Tea Room #55!

On a personal note ... please keep my husband in all of your prayers this week.  Unexpectedly, he was hospitalized last Friday and had to have a cardiac catherization performed along with the insertion of a stent into one of the main arteries surrounding his heart.  He does have high cholesterol and high blood pressure, so we are thankful some warning signs prompted a doctor's visit where, after a stress test, it was determined that he would need this procedure performed to avoid a heart attack.  He came very close to having a triple by-pass performed, but by the Grace of God, we are blessed and thankful that it was 'only' one stent that had to be inserted for right now.

Needless to say, it was the most stressful week of our lives together (married 25 years this year!).  I hope we don't have another one like this ever again!  Those close to me that knew about all of this ... I can't thank you enough for your support and well wishes.  Before the hospitalization, I was able to comment in the Tea Room's BINGO challenge through the first 100 submissions.  Please know that I didn't have my lap top with me while at the hospital for two days with my hubby, so I was unable to comment on all the submissions.  I did look at each and every one of them while picking the winners ... fabulous work ladies!!

My time was short on the computer today ... having to care for him, so I'll be back here again tomorrow to announce the winner of the Seam Binding from my 'extra' challenge from last week's Tea Room BINGO challenge.

So, without further ado, welcome to The Shabby Tea Room's #55 challenge!  Today is Danielle's very first week to host and she has chosen a FABULOUS theme and inspiration photo for us all to create with :)  This week's challenge is called 'Flower Palette' and Danielle asks that we create a card or project inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo and using FLOWERS ...

... isn't this picture absolutely dreamy??  I adore pink, green and blue together -- those are the main colors in my design room -- so pretty and soothing!

I set to work combing through my patterned papers to find just the right ones to design this card with!  I settled on the pretty green floral background paper from K&Company and the adorable polka dotted blue paper from Melissa Frances!  I messily accordian folded the polka dot paper by hand (did not measure and score) to give it a shabby look.  Then I added some delicious confections of embellishments to the ruffled paper - machine zig-zag stitching, library clip, trinket pin, sparkler, paper flower, snipett of lace and a pretty punched bird with a teeny tiny pearl for her eye!

Our fabby sponsor in the Tea Room is JustRite Stamps who supplied the Design Team girlies with the prettiest new cling sets to create with!  I used the Kindness Set and the Friendship Blooms Set.  I am simply in {love} the all of JR's newest cling stamps -- super easy to use and many of them have a distinctively vintage feel that speaks to my heart and they coordinate with lots of pretty Spellbinders Dies too!

You'll not want to miss the inspiration from the Shabby Girls this week too -- breathtaking!

A Baby Shower ...

Today I taught a card class and one of the gals is expecting her first baby ... a BOY!  So, we got together and threw her a little mini baby shower of sorts!

There was BLUEberry cobbler bars, fruit salad with BLUEberries, BLUE chips with Artichoke & Spinach Dip and BLUE plates, napkins and decorations!!

I made some favor boxes for everyone in attendance (I purchased the boxes as my time was too short to make them from scratch), but I made the Hershey Kisses tent treat (filled with 'It's a Boy' kisses!).

Lots of pretty blue on the baby card I made for Nicolle ... along with a glitterly aqua binder clip and sparkly silver (gray) baby rattle.  Too sweet!!

I have two sons, so I know 'all about boys' and shared some tips and tricks with the expectant mom today!  She is in for a FUN ride :)

We enjoyed a yummy brunch (thanks Beth!!), followed by a game of Baby Shower BINGO!

There were a couple baby presents - yippiee!!

And then we all got busy ... stamping and paper crafting the morning away!  What a FUN day :)

Thanks for peeking in today!

I was tickled {pink} when Lauren invited me to be on the sketch Design Team ... she is so wonderful and I just adore working with the MTME girlies -- they are so much fun and so inspirational.  It's like a little family!!  So, without further ado, here is Pretty Pattern Sketch #1.   I LOVE the layers of fun here!

In my own shabby little style, I loaded up the layers with yummy embellies -- blue glittered chipboard flourishes, an aqua trinket pin, pretty white lace with blue sequins, an aqua shabby flower, an antique oil rubbed bronze brad, a dainty paper doilie, a chipboard crown spritzed with blue glimmer mist and then sugared with glitter ...

... a stamped metal ring - I used the Monograms Defined stamp set - and pretty papers from the shop -- Cool Romance, Botanical Beauties.

We're so excited to have you play along with our weekly sketch and color challenges!  I cannot wait to see what you will all create with the MTME Pretty Patterns and Perfect Palettes each week!

The Shabby Tea Room #53!

WOW ... The Shabby Tea Room has been around for ONE YEAR this week and we're having a Birthday Bash to CELEBRATE!  Clare is our host this week and she has chosen the theme of  'Party Time' to get us headed down the party path and asks that we all create a CARD, BANNER and/or GIFT with a birthday/celebration theme!

There is an adorable party themed photo to jump start everyone's mojo ...

... isn't that banner so sweet and doesn't that punch look yummy!

Our Tea Room sponsor this week is Blackleaf Studios who provided the DT with the {sweetest} party themed images for our birthday week!  I chose to to create with one of the images from the Vintage Chic set -- this is actually a stack of boxes, but I turned mine into a 3-tiered birthday cake with all the trimmings!  Did you notice the sweet little birthday candle at the top of the cake ... one for one year of FUN!

I used JustRite's You Inspire Me cling stamp set for the sentiment ... isn't that font the prettiest?  I also wanted to play along with JR's current blog challenge which is to make a birthday card/gift and use scoring ... can you see the score lines I added to the cake layers?  I watch The Cake Boss all the time and love when he does that to wedding cakes ... so gorgeous -- looks like it's quilted!!  I even added some 'edible' pearls between the layers - yum!!

A pretty little nosegay finishes off the design with some Pink Bubblegum Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop, a crystal trinket pink, turquoise baker's twine, a button, Prima glittered flower and a rusty metal tag with the #1 stamped on it!

Hubby arrived back in the US early this morning after having been out of the country on business for the past seven days (Taiwan - and he got delayed by a day returning home because of the earthquake in Japan).  He knew I have been dilligently working on his theater room for weeks and months -- all finishing up this week, so I guess the pretty pink roses he brought me were a thank you for a job well done with his 'man cave'!  They're the prettiest shade of pink - love 'em!  Thought they would go well as a pretty prop for all the party festivities in the Tea Room too!!

I was inspired by the banner in the inspo picture too, so I decided to make a shabby little banner to match my Tea Room birthday card!  I {heart} banners these days ... just {heart} them I tell ya'!

In my true shabby style, I found a fabric banner with pom-pom trim to create my paper crafted banner out of!  What a fabby base to build from!!

I started with the Banner Set #1 from The Digichick Shop and cut all the paper banner pieces with my Cricut.

Next I added a couple paper layers of paper cut with the banner die from Papertrey Ink ... I used Vintage Cream CS and Springtime Vintage DSP from SU!

Each sweet banner piece has a snipett of a paper doilie and lots and lots of my favie embellishments!

Buttons and bows, ribbons and trims, lace and pearls, chipboard and glitter, rhinestones and teeny clothes pins, baker's twine and flowers, rusty pins/jingle bells and brads!  Oh my!!

This banner was so much fun to create and I simply {ADORE} how it turned out ... so shabby, so vintage, so yummy ... SO ME!

Now comes the hard part ... trying to figure out where to hang it!  Definitely in my stamp room, but I've tried  two places so far and wasn't crazy about either.  I'll have to live with it and see what feels best over the next couple of days!  It's too pretty not to put in a place of honor!

So, there you have it!  My Tea Room Birthday Bash projects!  And, before you go, I have some MORE fun news ... I have a bit of CANDY to give away to one lucky person!

This is one of my most recent projects created for the My Time Made Easy Shop!  It's a sweet little purse template and inside are four coordinating cards ... just a darling set!
