Take Time to Enjoy ...

And that is just what I did this afternoon!  I spent the morning doing necessary catch up stuff on the computer and early afternoon taking my youngest son to the oral surgeon -- has to have all four of his wisdom teeth pulled over spring break ... poor kiddo :(  So, this afternoon while watching Oprah's Oscar Special, I made this card ... just for FUN!  I {adore} the soft and shabby feel to the design ... sweet!

Cool Romance - Musical Damask Sheet Music digital paper available 2/1 at My Time Made Easy!
Doilie die and Winter in the City stamp set from My Favorite Things!

My Time Made Easy - February Peeks!

Hello friends ... so glad you could pop in today!  I have the pleasure, today,  to show you some of Lauren's newest goodies that are hot off the press for the February Release and will be available in the My Time Made Easy Shop tomorrow - February 1st!  Hold onto your hats gals, this month Lauren has some extra special treats for us all to create with!  I am absolutely smitten with it ALL :)

Ready ... here we go!  Introducing:  Creative Card Candy Template!

WOW, this template was so much fun to work with!  It's a miniature replica of a candy box that you might receive filled with chocolates for Valentine's Day!  What a GREAT template to have on hand for all those gift giving occasions that pop up throughout the year!  It's a snap to assemble ... I used my Cricut and cut the box, wrapper and cover out electronically, but this would be equally as easy to assemble by downloading the PDF version of the template and cutting by hand!  Easy peesy!!

Now onto that yummy tag ... It's called Framed Elegance and it's a cut file!
The gorgeous stamp set is my 'new' favorite from Lauren's shop (next to A Spot of Tea!!) and it's called Monograms Defined.  Oh my ... be still my shabby heart -- this set is scrumptious!  It not only has all 26 letters of the alphabet, but it also has 31 a-mazing sentiments to coordinate - WOW!  That sweet little pink stamped flower is from the Grab a Cuppa? set.

This candy/card box was so much fun to decorate and embellish ... a paper doile spritzed with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist, lace trim, a trinket pin, glittered leaves, berries, tiny jingle bells, baker's twine, buttons, stain flowers, rhinestones, tinsel, glittered chipboard elements, pearls, pom-poms, 3-D paper flowers, rouched satin ribbon -- handmade with lots of {love}!  The entire nosegay is assembled on top of a patterned paper doilie -- I printed out some of the new Cool Romance - Musical Damask Sheet Music digi paper, die cut some into the shape of a doilie and then attached it to the card candy base.  Kristin hit a 'home run' with me when she designed this  shabby-licious paper!!!

I decided that instead of chocolates (or maybe along with some chocolates!!), my gift box was going to include some handmade thank you cards that I created using the new Framed Elegance stamp set along with the new Creative Card/Envelope #1 cut files!  GORGEOUS!!!

All these pieces (4 in vanilla, 4 in kraft and 4 in aqua) were cut with my Cricut and only took a couple minutes when done electronically - super easy peesy!!  Then came the magic -- inked edges to create a distressed and vintage look, some stamping ...

... and the addition of some embellishments to finish them off.  I bundled them together with some baker's twine tied in a sweet little knot for neatness.  Voila!  In less than 30 minutes I was able to create 4 thank you cards with matching envelopes to nest neatly inside my Creative Card Candy Gift Box!

And here is the complete set!  Isn't it so pretty!!  Who wouldn't love to receive such a lovely, handmade from the heart gift ... and throw in a couple of chocolates to add just the right amount of icing on the cake and you'll have a winner on your hands for sure!

The Shabby Tea Room #47!

Good morning friends and welcome to this week's challenge #47 at The Shabby Tea Room :)  Clare is our fabby host this week and she is challenging us all to 'Get Creative'!!!  I {LOVE} it!!!  Clare asks that we create a card or project using just stamping (no patterned papers) and handmade embellishments.  You can use the standard 'go to' supplies from your stash like punches, dies, ribbons, buttons and brads ... but no manufactured things, like store bought flowers, for example!  Isn't that so cool!  Put your thinking caps on and get busy with your treasure baskets of crafty supplies  this is a 'must play along with' challenge for sure!

I stamped the base of my card with a gorgeous flourish from the Bliss set from SU!  I inked the edges with vanilla paint to give them a shabby look.  The vintage ledger paper image is stamped with the Notably Ornate SU! set, inking and corner rounding the edges and doing a bit of machine sewing on it and adding glittered snipets of paper doiles before attaching it to the card base!  The sweet butterfly is another image from the Bliss set, stamped, fussy cut, glittered and adhered.

JustRite Stamps is our wonderful sponsor in the Tea Room this week and I was lucky enough to be provided some new goodies from the store to design this card using the brand new You Inspire Me cling stamp set (love them!) and the new Nested Sentiments dies from Spellbinders, along with the scalloped circle die - aren't they beautiful!

The handmade rolled flower was created using a Sizzix die ... cut it out, roll it up, glue at the bottom and sugar with glitter - YUM!  I completed my design with some delicious polka dot aqua satin ribbon, prima leaves with glitter and a sweet vanilla pearl added to the sentiment.  I just adore how pretty and soft this card came out ... my favorite color palette to work with - pink, white (cream), aqua and kraft ... {happy sigh}!!

Be sure to visit the other Shabby Girls' blogs this week to be inspired by their CREATIVITY ... and then hop on over to the Tea Room to play along with your bloggity friends this week!

Gifts ...

Things I am thankful for at the start of this bright and shiny new year ... family, friends and health!  I was in my happy place this afternoon having finished up for the day with some remodeling we're having done on an unfinished space in our home (electricians today), because I got to pop into my crafty room and play a bit 'just for the fun of it' - WOW!!

My favorite color combo after pink and aqua is cream and kraft, so I smiled from ear to ear when I saw Cath's Tuesday Trigger today -- absolutely delicious, so I 'had to' create a card to join in on the fun :)

I used the lattice fold technique on the left spine of the card by overlaying the template, scoring the lines all down the side, cutting and the folding the scored/cut v-folds back.  To get the two-toned paper look, I first lined the spine of the card base with some yummy kraft and cream DSP from SU!

The heart is a scallop nestie from Spellbinders, and I covered it with 18 handmade rolled paper flowers -- a pearl in the center of each and then lightly sugared with glitter!  All the edges of the cardstock are inked with twill and vintage cream paint.  The nosegay is Cake Crumbs Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop along with a rhinestone butterfly from Jenni Bowlin, button, baker's twine and a rusty jingle bell!

The 'friends are a gift' sentiment is stamped using JustRite's Friendship Nested Sentiments stamp set, and the 'post card' image is from a SU! holiday set.  This card could work equally well for a birthday or even Valentine's Day - I love the untraditional colors of the design for a Valentine!

Thanks for peeking in today :)

January Card Club Project #1 ...

For the card classes I will be teaching in January, we are having a Valentine Theme -- love this holiday with all it's {pink}, roses and prettiness!!  This first card I made with a shabby little spin -- inking the edges with pink paint and using a gorgeous heart stamp from Punch Potpouri (SU! Host Set) and the {new} Bliss stamp set from the SU! Sale-A-Bration catty ... my new favie set!  Isn't that red glitter bird wonderful!

Then for my card class girlies, I decided to clean the design concept up a bit for them ... same layout, but a crisp and clean overall design.  I used the new papers and stamp set from the Valentine bundle currently offered through SU! until 1/24!  Isn't it sweet :)  The tickets were given to me from one of my stampy neighbors -- thanks, Barb!

Don't you {heart} this sparkly snowflake ... we only used one dimensional to attach the snowflake flourish to the card base so that it could be removed and used as an ornament on the tree, package topper or hand it in a window for decoration!!  Don't you love that handmade flower ... we used the coordinating fabric that matches the DSP from Stampin' Up!

My Time Made Easy January Group Post!

Hello to all my sweet bloggity blog friends and welcome to today's GROUP POST at My Time Made Easy!

For today's project, Lauren asked her entire design team to pick their favorite template from 2010 and make a gift and matching card set!  Well, I thought and thought and then thought some more ... to pick just ONE of Lauren's templates as a favorite is just impossible for me -- I {heart} them all!

I know you all thought I'd go with either the tea pot or tea cup templates in pink, right?  Nope!

What I've decided to do is to add onto the village I started back in November when I designed the Vintage Gingerbread Carry It house.  Today I'm excited to introduce you to the next house in this village series ...

Carry It Valentine Cottage!

Oh be still my shabby little heart ... this little cottage is simply precious IRL!!  I cut the template out with my Cricut and then printed out several pages of digital papers from the Love Notes collection - what GORGEOUS papers!!!  The door was stamped using the Sugar and Spice stamp set and I inked the edges of the house and door with twill paint.

Then came the fun part ... moving in and decorating!!!  A sweet chenille heart shaped wreath with satin flower, rhinestone and baker's twine adorns the front door!  A glittered chipboard floruish hangs above the door to welcome guests!  A pretty little rhinestone tree decorates the front yard with the sweetest tree topper!  The roof is decorated with rhinestones, glitter, pom-pom trim, lace, satin ribbon bows, bloomers, tinsel, glittered chipboard hearts, silver bells and baker's twine bows!

For the matching card, I printed a beautiful  Bingo Card from the Love Notes digi paper set and used some of the Love Poem and Floral papers for my accents.  More delicious and shabby goodness here including a pearl trinket pin, sheet music rhinestoned butterfly and glittered leaves!  The sentiment is stamped using the Gingersnaps stamp set - a perfect set anytime you want to give a 'sweet treat' :)

My gift box house is filled with Pepperment Ghirardelli Chocolate candies - the red and white packaging goes perfect with the red and white theme of this set!!

Thanks for peeking!  Don't forget to visit the MTME Designer's Gallery for loads more inspiration from all the girlies and then pop on over to the individual blogs to see what the girls have designed today as their 'favorite template' from 2010!
