Bed & Breakfast ... BLISS!

Well, our anniversary celebration weekend away at a BEAUTIFUL Victorian Bed & Breakfast down in Wilmington, NC (about 2.5 hours from our house) was wonderful and the weekend went by much too quickly!  Why does the work week seem to drag on and fun time goes by oh so quick???

I'd like to share some pics with you all that I snapped over the course of the weekend ... the historic charm and ambiance was second to none!  I have over 100 photos from the weekend, so I'll split the posts up over a couple days ... enjoy peeking!

The Verandas Bed & Breakfast - built in 1854 and lovingly restored in 1995!

Our suite was on the second floor, top right - two windows facing Second Street and two windows facing Nun Street.

There was an exterior door just outside our bedroom door which led onto the second story veranda where we enjoyed sitting and sipping wine!

This 10,000 square foot, four story Victorian Mansion is a true historic charmer!

Our 400 square foot suite had the prettiest shade of pale pink painted walls, gorgeous antique furniture and a stunning headboard treatment over the king-size bed!

This beautiful antique armoire housed the TV!

Sitting area in our room with a gorgeous velvet ladies couch, beautiful tables with marble tops, lamps and chairs.

There was a small table in the corner here which was replenished daily with chocolates, snacks and sherry!

The lavish bathroom with white painted wainscotting, marble floors and counter tops, beautiful Victorian printed tapestry drapes and shower curtain.

Dining room where breakfast was served daily at 9 am - so yummy!

Day one we had cantalope drizzled with lime juice, french pressed coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, egg baked quiche, lemon poppy seed muffins and chicken sausage.  Day two we had bananas with vanilla yogurt cream sauce, french pressed  coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, mandarin orange cream cheese baked croissants and garlic & herb sausage!

Dining Room Buffet filled with vintage treasures!

Victorian Parlor in all it's splendor and glory -- look at that light fixture!

Another view of the parlor!

Library and piano room!

Another view of library/piano room.

Butler's pantry where complimentary snacks and drinks were served daily!

Each night, the table in the Butler's Pantry would have menus available for review from surrounding restaurants so you could plan out your evenings dinner and festivities in advance!

The owner's had already started decorating for Halloween ... see the pumpkins on the second story veranda and the spiders and bats hanging over the front door?

View of the rear of the house ... two more open verandas and a large screened porch over looking a pristinely manucured back lawn with a patio, white wicker furniture and fountain!

Pure heaven ... a weekend to remember!  More pics to follow of our historic homes downtown tour!
