An unexpected surprise ...

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!  Today I'm sharing another fun project with you all for the My Time Made Easy June Release!!  Lauren asked the Design Teamies to create something 'unexpected' with this month's templates ... something that you maybe wouldn't think of doing at first glance.

Well, when I saw the {new} Fresh Popped template -- of course the obvious came to mind -- a box of popcorn!  I thought and thought ... and thought some more!  While on a recent shopping trip to Carolina Pottery (LOVE that store!!!), I found the most gorgeous, realistic looking, miniature hydrangeas in beautiful, soft shades of pink, green and cream.  It came to me right then ... I was going to turn the Fresh Popped template into a vase or basket for these pretty little blooms!

The blooms' miniature size was the perfect fit for the Fresh Popped template!   This was one of the easiest templates to assemble -- went together in less than five minutes.  I cut the front and back templates pieces with my Cricut, assembled the box and inked the edges with cream paint to create a time-worn look.  I love all those pretty little scallops at the top edge of the box/basket!

I had fun decorating the front of the flower basket with lots of bits and bobs of treasures!  The sweet little bird was cut using the A Little Birdie cut file (LOVE this file!!!) and the sentiment was stamped using the Bee-Loved Sentiments stamp set - what a beautiful sentiment!

I added a bit of machine sewing, a pretty pink glittered chipboard heart, a teeny tiny clothes pin, some trinket pins, organza flower, vintage lace I picked up at an antique show in April, some pink baker's twine, a vintage ticket and a paper doilie spritzed with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist!

So, so ... SO sweet and pretty!  This little beauty needs to find a home in my craft room -- it just makes me smile each time I peek at it!!

I also designed a coordinating card to go along with the basket of flowers to give away as a gift (although I really want to 'gift' this set to meeeeeee!)!  I used the Bee-Loved Sentiments stamp set on the tag and a snipett of Warm Serenity sheet music paper in pink - {swoon}!!!  The pretty Kraft background piece was cut with my Cricut using the Creative Card & Envelope #1 cut file.  A couple more bits of vintage lace trim, baker's twine, a trinket pin, sparkler and organza flower complete this little card!

And here is the complete set ... what do you think??  I adore it!!  One of my favorites to date!

Until then, happy stamping my friends!
