Do Not Open Until ...

Another project I made this month with my paper crafting club girlies :)  We used some gorgeous Deck the Halls DSP from Stampin' Up! with a few embellies like this Snow Swirled tree with glitter, rhinestone and gold star, tag and seam binding!

Challenges for this card:

Polka Doodles #47 - 'twas the night before Christmas

Ho, Ho ... Holiday Treats!

I made these {sweet} treats with my paper crafting club girls this month!  Aren't they just darling!!  Underneath all that cuteness is a Hershey chocolate bar!  On top is some yummy Candy Cane Christmas DSP from Stampin' Up! and a whole bunch of punches to make the santa face and tag!

I'm hosting a holiday progressive dinner this Saturday evening for 8 couples and plan (if time permits this week!!!) to make one of these for each guest to take upon leaving my house to travel to the next one!  We're doing a 'white elephant' gift exchange and I picked up a Santa Mr. Potato Head at Target as my gift ... what do you think -- quirky enough??

Challenges for this project:

Our Vintage Affair - decorate a chocolate bar!
Die Cut Dreams #76 - sweets & candy!!
Polka Doodles #47 - 'twas the night before Christmas

The Shabby Tea Room #38!

This week, Pattie is our lovely host and she has chosen the theme of  'Get In Shape' for us all to play along with at The Shabby Tea Room!  What this means is to create a card or project using NO rectangles or squares for the base of your card - FUN!

The shape I chose is a mitten ... inspired by THIS card I made with one of my paper crafting clubs last December :)  I traced and cut a mitten shape out of a piece of cardboard and then traced onto my cardstock base.  I covered the mitten and thumb parts with a GORGEOUS piece of digi paper from The Digi Chick Shop - Noel - A Vintage Christmas Kit by Mari Koegelenberg.  The cuff is covered with some sparkle polka dot paper from My Mind's Eye.

Next was the fun part ... I decided to go all vintage and shabby {YUM} with my mitten, so I added a couple of layers of lace, satin and organza ribbons, berries, glittered paper flower and chipboard snowflake, button with baker's twine and tiny jingle bells, pearls and a tag that I cut using a Spellbinder's die.

I stamped the sentiment and the sweet snowflakes on the bottom of the mitten using JustRite's newest cling sets - Sparky the Snowman & Sparky and Friends.  I am simply in love with JR's new cling sets - easy peesy to use!!  And, JustRite happens to be the sponsor for the #38th challenge this week, so hop on over and give our shaped card/project challenge a try!  We can't wait to see what you create :)

The Shabby Tea Room #37!

We have a fun little challenge for you all to join in with this week -- and perfect timing hosting this challenge during Thanksgiving week here in the US!  What better time to celebrate everything you are thankful for in an extra special way?  This week we are challenging you all to pick your favorite charity, organization or cause and make a card for it!

I decided to partner with Cards For Kids!

This amazing and worth while organization collects cards for sponsored children who are in different stages of fighting health battles and sends them packages of paper crafted love throughout the year!

You can read more about the Cards For Kids organization on Jennifer McGuire's blog HERE.

You can read more about the current challenge prizes HERE.

If you're interested in making a card to send in for THE CURRENT ROUND OF CARD DONATIONS, the deadline is NOVEMBER 30TH.  Please see Jennifer's blog for all the details.

I couldn't pick just one sweet child, so I chose to make 13 cards and send them all in -- one for each child  currently sponsored and their families!

I am showcasing this one card that I made for TSTR challenge this week ...

... and this will also be my 2010 Christmas Card sent to all my family and friends!  I spent 7 blissful hours yesterday at the clubhouse in my neighborhood with some of my closest paper crafting friends!  We gathered for the day, everyone brought some delicious goodies to share ... we ate, we stamped, we chatted ... we had FUN!  What a GOOD DAY it was!!

Our Tea Room sponsor this week is June Lanum from Lina Beas and she sent the most wonderful handmade trinket pins and crocheted flowers for the team to design with!  She also provided a huge goodie bag of these lovelies for our lucky winner this week ... so run up to your craft space and make a card to submit for a chance to win the yummies!

Please visit the other shabby girls' blogs to see what they have created for inspriation for us all this week:

I hope you have some time this week to play along with our Tea Room Challenge!

The Pink Elephant - Give Thanks!

Well, it's here ... today is the offical kickoff of the Thanksgiving holiday for us!  My in-laws arrive from NY this afternoon for a week-long visit and my boys will be home from college tomorrow for five days of family togetherness!  Tomorrow is also my 'baby's' 19th birthday!!  We're ALL going out together as a family to celebrate -- and I get out of cooking - yippiee!!

I have so much to be thankful for this year ... my family is healthy and happy, my husband found a job this spring right here at home and we didn't have to relocate to CA, my sons are doing well in college, I get to do what I love and design for some of the best shops and challenge blogs.  Live is GOOD!

Lori asked the entire Design Team from The Pink Elephant to create cards for a special challenge this week - Give Thanks!  I had this sweet little vintage image sitting on my 'to do' pile just waiting to be played with!

I started by using the current Waltzingmouse Sketch and the colors from JUGS -- I love the non-traditional colors on this Thanksgiving card ... especially the little POP of {pink}!  I used Deck the Halls DSP from Stampin' Up! and a burnt edge flower for the dark red, cardstock, glitter and berries for the white, cardstock and music notes for the black and sheet music, berries, cardstock & Prima flower and Primrose Cookie Dough Shabby Vintage Seam Binding (from my Etsy Shop) for the yellow.

If you have some time this week, we'd love to see you join us at TPE and create a card or give with a 'Give Thanks' theme :)

Thanks for peeking ... have a wonderful and happy week!

Bounty of the Season ... is JustRite!

Hello everyone ... I hope you all had a good day today.  Not too much time for paper crafting for me today as I taught a card class this evening, so I was prepping materials most of the day.

I did manage to post my card for The Shabby Tea Room's 'What Are You Thankful For?' current challenge and I used JustRite's new Just Hangin' Around stamp set ... which received a showcase honor from the Flicker Group at the JR site today!

You can view my original post HERE!

A BIG thank you to Sharon and all the JR girlies!  I'm honored!!

I hope you're all having a wonderfully stampy day!!

The Shabby Tea Room #36!

Good morning bloggity friends and welcome to the 36th challenge at The Shabby Tea Room!  This week Lisa is our lovely host and she has challenged us to create a card or project with a 'Thankful' theme!

I absolutely adore this sweet, vintage image - that little boy is simply precious pushing his little wheel barrow filled with bountiful treasures!!  The stamp set is called Hangin' Around from JustRite Stamps ... isn't that sentiment perfect!  I stamped the tiny pumpkin, colored it in, cut it out and adhered to the card base with a dimensional for some depth.

My newest addiction (besides sewing on my cards) is burnt edge flowers!  I had some gold shimmery material in my stash from my sewing/quilting days, so I pulled it out and made this pretty little posey - I {heart} it all crumply and sweet!  The center is a rolled paper flower in navy blue to which I added a splash of gold glitter on the edges - yum!

I cut the scalloped oval frame from a nestability die and coated it with gold glimmer glass - so pretty IRL!  The mini calendar page and rouched lace are from Stampin' Up!  The Vintage Cream Shabby Seam Binding is from my Etsy Shop.  Navy blue leaf cut with my Cricut.

Have a peek at the other Shabby Girls' blogs to see their lovely inspiration this week:

Sweet Stampin' #52!

Hey my bloggity blog friends ... hope you're having a wonderful stampy day today!  I'm so excited to share the Week #52 challenge theme from the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog with you all today - SNOWFLAKES!!!  I {adore} snowflakes, snowmen, mittens and hot cocoa ... as long as all the 'snow stuff' is paper and not the real thing!

I was born and rasied in upstate NY where it's cold 3/4 of the year and have lived in the lovely, warm southern part of the US for the past 16 years ... I quickly found out that I'm a 'warm weather' type of gal.  I prefer the beach and one of those drinkies with the colorful umbrellas in it as opposed to boots, shovels and piles of snow!  Don't get me wrong, it's so pretty to look at and I have such fond memories of pulling my sweet little boys around on their sleds during those cold, blustery winter days, but I much prefer the sunny skies and dry roads that we have here in central NC!  We rarely get snow here, but when we do it's a doosey!  Everything shuts down and we just stay home hunkerd in for the duration - FUN :)

So here is my snowflake card ...

... I used JustRite's new Sparky and Friends & Sparky the Snowman stamp sets for the stamped snowflakes and sentiment.  The sparkly, glittered snowflake and the adorable mitten are dies from Sizzix that I cut out with my Big Shot.  Sweet baker's twine from Really Reasonable Ribbons and all other supplies Stampin' Up!  Label die is from Spellbinders.  Isn't this color combo of white, blue and silver simply dreamy?  This card just makes me smile, how 'bout you??

I cannot wait to see all of your snowflake creations this week ... I hope you have some time to play along!

Challenges for this card:

Sweet Stampin' #52 - snowflakes
Flourishes FLLCNOV10 - warm winter wishes
Really Reasonable Ribbons #11 - winter w/blue, white & silver

Memories ...

I was excited to make this sweet little creation using the JustRite Nested Christmas Sentiments set ... I wanted to show how versitile the sets are -- by using just part of the sentiment from this set, I turned it from a Christmas Sentiment into a Sympathy Sentiment!!  Pretty cool, huh!

That rolled paper flower is so yummy all glittered up and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder is simply breathtaking on the Cake Crumbs cardstock with some cream paint brushed over the raised parts to give a soft, vintage look!  A little Webster's Pages vintage lace, a Spellbinder's label die and some pearls - YUM!

Gratitude ...

A big happy 'hello' to all my bloggity blog friends ... I hope you're all having a wonderful day and getting some stampy time in :)

I have a sweet little project to share with you all today that I made for my Thanksgiving table ...

... isn't this miniature paper pumpkin the cutest thing!  It was easy peesey to make by cutting 2 1/2" circles with a die, embossing the circles, folding in half, cutting half way up the middle and then placing them around the center base circle and glueing together!  I shabbied my little pumpkin up with some cream and brown paint and added a paper doilie and glittered paper flowers (first spritzed with gold Glimmer Mist), leaves and satin ribbon to the nose gay.

I couldn't stop there ... just the ladies will receive a mini pumpkin to take home, so I decided to make place cards for each guest at the table to coordinate with the pumpkin!  More embossing, inking and a larger, glittered flower, leaves and ribbon.  I used SU's Rough Type stamp set to stamp all the letters and then punched them out with a 1/2" circle punch.

What a fun and adorable little fall/thanksgiving project!  When you make your table decorations for this upcoming holiday season, send me a link ... I'd love to peek at all of your projects!

I was inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World ... isn't it A-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!  I'm going to do that exact same thing for my Thanksgiving table this year!

Fussy & Fancy DT Call!

We here at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge are looking for some new teamies! Now, don't let our name worry you! We are looking for all styles and would love for you to send us your best! Here's how to enter our Design Team call.

Develop a post featuring three (3) of your favorite projects that you have created. Link that post to this one with the Inlinkz tool below. Our DT members make a card or other project every two weeks, according to the challenge set ahead of time. We set our challenges many months out, so you will have plenty of advance notice. From time to time, our sponsors will offer us an image or choice of image to use on our projects. You have the choice to use one of our sponsors' images for your project for that challenge, and of course those images are yours to keep. Our DT members also comment on our challenge entries, usually according to an assigned number.

Perks:

We have a great team of Fussy and Fancy Gals just like you, creating because we love it! Our sponsors have been very kind to offer us images to work with (usually digital.) Your projects will be on Fussy and Fancy Challenge posts, and we will place a link to your blog on the Fussy and Fancy Challenge blog. Our over 800 followers will view your featured work on each challenge post.

This is such a fun team to work with and be a part of.  I'd love to see your creations for this current call.  Happy papercrafting and stamping!!!

Joyeux noel ...

Just a quick little post for you all to peek at this afternoon ... I'm heading out shortly to pick up a cake and balloons and then meeting my hubby and our oldest son on the campus of NC State University where he attends college.  Today is his TWENTIETH birthday and we want to celebrate 'live' with him!!  Our family went out last night for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (yum), but we still wanted to see him on 'the day'.  We're going to have dinner with him in the dining hall at his dorm and then birthday cake - yummy!!

Pink and green is my absolute favorite color combo - next to pink and aqua, so this was a fun card to design!  Lots of shabby love ... lace, glitter, burnt edge flower, felt, pearls, snowflake dies, a tag and Holly-Day Leaves cut file from My Time Made Easy!   This card went together so quickly -- the dove and snowflakes are dies, leaves are cut files I cut with my Cricut, tag from the office store and inked with pink and green paint, burnt flower with Prima center - easy peesy!

I used Mona's current color palette ... scrumptious!

Thanks for peeking :)

The Shabby Tea Room #35!

This week at The Shabby Tea Room, we are inspired by this lovely photo ...

... and our host, Clare, is asking us to create a card or project using the colors, theme or both!  I used both -

Our sponsor in the Tea Room this week is My Time Made Easy, and Lauren provided the DT with this adorable butterfly template called 'All a Flutter' and some yummy digital papers and images to design with!

I used Tea Parlor Fortune Teller's Fallen Leaf digital papers from MTME.  The handmade trinket pin is from June at Lina Beas, the heart stamped on the metal tag is from the You've Got Mail stamp set, a snippet of vintage lace, some berries, a butterfly cut with my Cricut and some Lilac Lace Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop to complete the nose-gay in the middle of the butterfly!  I filled the gift with Raspberry Chocolate hot cocoa and praline cookies!!

On the gift card, I used the Trendy Tags #3 cut file, Just For You Sentiments and Just For You stamp sets, all from the MTME shop!  The card was cut using my Cricut and the Sentimentals cartridge.  The small butterfly is actually cut out and I put some more Tea Parlor digi paper behind the cut out to peek through!

One of my very good friends, Mary, is having her birthday next week and her favorite color is purple, so this {sweet} little handmade from the heart gift set will be going to her ... made with love :)

Please visit the My Time Made Easy to see all the wonderful templates, stamp sets, cut files and digital papers and images that Lauren has to offer - such wonderful goodies to design with!!!
