Design Team Announcement - KL Stampin' N' Scrappin'!

WOWOWOW ... I'm very excited to share some wonderful news with you all today! I received the loveliest invitation today from Kelly, the creator of the KL Stampin' N' Scrappin' Weekly Challenge Blog, to join her Design Team - yippiee!!!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

I just loooooove this challenge blog and submit a ton of designs to them! I thought they were getting sick of seeing me pop in there so often, but I guess not! I'm so excited to get started, but it won't 'officially' be until June 1st. Until then, please join me in creating and submitting work for the girls to peek at over at KLSNS ... they have such a wonderful blog with super talented designers and a GREAT on-line store too!

Look at the design I created this week HERE using one of the stamp sets I purchased from the KLSNS Store!! Absolutely A-DORABLE ... how cute is that little girly with her cupcake :) I have it on 'good authority' {giggle} that Kelly will be adding some yummy treats, including some vintage goodies, to her store soon -- delicious :)

This is going to be soooo much fun!! I can hardly wait to begin!

Grateful for You ...

I {heart} this soft and scrumptious color combo ... just so beautiful!

Isn't that Prima flower simply lovely? It has glitter on it too!!

I don't make easel cards that often, but when I do, I simply {adore} them :)

I used Girls' Paperie & Melissa Frances DSP on this card. The CS is Very Vanilla and Sage Shadow from SU! The flower is Prima; pearls are Melissa Frances; vintage lace is Offray, stamp set is PTI and Shabby Vintage Seam Binding is 'Mint Green Tea' from my Etsy shop!
Another absolutely lovely color combo from the girls over at The Play Date Cafe this week - thanks Mona :)
Challenges I used for this design:
1. Get Sketchy #35 - sketch
2. The Play Date Cafe #27 - color/light green, light blue, off white
4. Sentimental Sundays #1 - flower and sentiment
6. Papertake Weekly - 'different' (I used a chocolate chip marker in my spritzer to distress)

9. Cute Card Thursday #110 - make your own element (nosegay with ribbon, lace & flower)
10. Caardvarks - new card, monochromatic & creative use of cardstock

{Sweet} Garden Style ...

Last one for ya'll tonight! This card was super fun to make ... lots of steps and it came out so pretty IRL!

First, I made some more DSP with the Certainly Celery background paper by stamping a floral image in Melon Mambo; I distressed and inked the edges to give it a vintage look. The next layer is Whisper White CS that I embossed, cut with pinking sheers and inked the edges. On top of that layer, I tied some 'Strawberry Shortcake' Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy shop!

The next layer is Whisper White CS again, distressed and inked. On top of that I ran some Melon Mambo DSP from the SU! Razzleberry Lemonade line through the Big Shot using the Petals a Plenty embossing folder and then sanded it lightly to reveal the white beneath!

Next layer is Whisper White again; pinked the edges and then added a seed packet on top of {Sweet William} flower seeds - super cute!

My embellies are a handmade spiral flower using Pink Pirouette textured cardstock layered on top of two green leaves. Second embellie is a cute gingham birdie stamped on Pink Pirouette cardstock and inked in Certainly Celery. He is sitting on a Whisper White cardstock branch I punched with the Large Two Step SU! punch. Last embellie is the oval sentiment inked with Certainly Celery and stamped on Pink Pirouette; inked edges to finish it off.

WOW ... so many layers --- this card is stunning in person; the picture does not do it justice!

Challenges I used to create this design:

2. Caardvarks - new card, monochromatic & creative use of cardstock
3. Crafty Creations #65 - create your own DSP background
4. Papertake Weekly - 'different'
5. Curtain Call #27 - color/melon mambo, pink pirouette, certainly celery, white
6. Our Creative Corner - blossoms
8. Paper Sundaes #15 - 3 DSP's, 2 CS's, 1 flower
9. Pile It On #16 - {sweet} birthday card - 'Sweet William' seed packet!

Nite :)

Monochromatic Pretty in Pink!

Another sweet creation for you all today! I {heart} this design all in shades of *pink*! I got to use some of my brand new Girls' Paperie patterned papers and stamps delivered a couple days ago while my company was here - yummy :) A bit of Melissa Frances DSP and some CS and stamps from SU! too.

The 'creative' use of cardstock and papers was - I stamped the GP ruler stamp in Soft Suede onto the pink polka dotted paper to create a handmade DSP strip and then cut it out. I stamped the clock onto another piece of pink patterned paper and cut it out - giving it a vintage feel. The flower is punched using a Tim Holtz die and pink ledger papers - I inked the edges to create a vintage feel. I also inked and distressed all the edges of the card base and background papers to give them a tattered and vintage feel.

Challenges I used to create this design:

1. The Sweetest Thing #66 - sketch
2. Caardvarks - new card, monochromatic & creative use of cardstock
3. Papertake Weekly - 'different' - created my own DSP's
4. Crafty Creations #65 - create your own DSP
5. Our Creative Corner - blossoms
6. Paper Sundaes #15 - 3 DSP's, 2 CS's, 1 flower
7. Stampin' Royalty #17 - punches

You're Invited ... for a friend!

A good friend of mine is throwing a 'surprise' birthday party for her mom turning 90 - WOW!!! She asked me to make the party invitations for her and I just finished them up :) I think they came out sweet ... what do you think?

Challenges I used for my design:

1. Card Patterns #61- sketch
2. Embellish Magazine - embossing, pink, green, blue & yellow
3. Our Creative Corner - blossoms
4. Crafty Creations #65 - create your own DSP background
5. Stampin' Royalty #17 - punches
6. Caardvarks - new, monochromatic (pastels), creative use of cardstock

My friend loved them :) Happy Birthday, 'MOM'!!!

Piled 'high' with lots of yummies!

Oh my 'sweet tooth' goodness ... I had been in paper crafting withdrawal after having out-of-town company staying with us the past few days -- had to entertain and didn't have much time for stamping :(

After I cleaned up, stripped beds and did laundry today, I ran full speed back into my craft room and surrounded myself with lots of my favorite paper crafting supplies and lots and lots of challenges that I had fallen behind on!!!

This 'sweet' card is what I designed! So much yummy goodness on there - it just makes me smile when I look at it :) The Shabby Vintage Seam Binding I used this time is 'Pink Bubblegum' from my Etsy Shop!

I'm submitting them for some of my very favorite challenges ... count them -- 13!!! I think it's a new 'record' for me {giggle}!!! TOTALLY FUN!!!

Challenges I used to create this {sweet} card:

1. Our Creative Corner #12 - sketch
2. Embellish Magazine - embossing & pink, green, blue and yellow
3. Pile It On #16 - 'make it sweet'!
4. Crafty Creations #65 - make your own DSP background paper (I stamped the pink cupcakes onto the white CS and then glittered the icing!)
5. Papertake Weekly - do something different (I rarely make my own DSP paper!)
6. Our Creative Corner - blossoms (I handmade the 3 flowers out of CS and DSP!)
7. Stampin' Royalty #17 - punches
8. Paper Sundaes #15 - 3 DSP's, 2 CS's, 1 flower (I glued my flowers close together to look like one large blossom!)
9. The Pink Elephant #64 - Aqua
10. Caardvarks - new card, monochromatic (I did pastels) and get creative with CS (I handmade the 3 paper flowers from CS and DSP and I made the cupcake DSP background paper!)
11. Fussy & Fancy #9 - birthday card with a sweet treat!
12. Crazy 4 Challenges #34 - 'case this card' - I picked the cupcake card and used that for my 'sweet' theme!
13. The Creative Cottage #8 - circles

Yummy ... enjoy :)

Picture Perfect Creations #10!

WOW! What a totally fun and beautiful color combo Megan chose for this week's challenge over at the Picture Perfect Creations Challenge Blog!

The DSP on this card is from Razzleberry Lemonade - yum! I used lots of yummies from SU! including the polka dot embossing folder, scalloped edge punch, word window punch, modern label punch, Blossom Party BS Die, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Bella's Bloom stamp set, backgrounds #1 texturz plate, certainly celery & white brads, 1/4" & 5/8" certainly celery grosgrain ribbons!
I will miss this lovely shade of Bordering Blue when it retires from the SU! line at the end of June :( Have to play with it lots before it's gone for good!
Now your turn ... hop on over to the PPC blog today to check out what the other talented designers have created this week for your inspiration and give this pretty and fun little color combo a try!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

The Shabby Tea Room #7!

Wow, time is just flying by. It's hard to believe, but we are {already} up to week #7 over at The Shabby Tea Room! This week Audrey is our host and she chose a wonderful theme for us all to play along with - 'Comforts of Home' inspired by this gorgeous photo of simply scrumptious vintage linens on an antique cart .... loooooooove it to pieces!

This challenge came for me at the just the perfect time ... I spent a lovely day on Saturday with my best guy at an antique show that comes to our area twice per year! We never miss it - every April and September :) It's an out-door event, rain or shine and has over 500 vendors each show! For those of us who like antiques and vintage ... it's like a little slice of heaven! Many of the vintage and antique pieces of furniture in my home have been loveingly shopped for and purchased over the years from vendors at this show!
I did manage to go with a 'wish list' in mind so as to not make it completely overwhelming for myself! I'm like a kid in a candy shop!!! I wanted to pick up some sort of vintage wicker table to replace a table I had out on my wrap around porch that I brought up to my stamp room when I remodeled this past fall. I got the piece that I removed from the porch and moved up to my craft room from the Liberty Antique Show too!
I did find 'just the right' antique wicker piece to fit my spot, in very good condition and made the deal! I also added a bonus piece to my porch collection ... a gorgeous, heart back shaped {pink} wicker chair!
Now, onto my card for this week's challenge! I also was luckly enough to 'score' a bag full of vintage snipets along with some vintage recips books!!! It worked in my favor when negotiating a price with the vendors when I told them I wanted their best price since I was going to cut everything up to make cards with!! One vendor looked perplexed and the other vendor just smiled!! She knew exactly what I had in mind for these lovely treasures!
So on my card for this week's submission at The Shabby Tea Room, I used some vintage yo-yo circles I cut off of a quilt and a recipe page from an old cookbook with the yummiest looking meringue pie! The gorgeous DSP is from Webster's Pages, buttons & twine from PTI and the Shabby Vintage Seam Binding is 'Rose Beige Glitter' from my Etsy Shop!
These are some of my favorite 'Comforts of Home' ... family, food and lots of shabby goodness!

Hey there ... Cupcake!

Absolutely {adorable} is what comes to mind when I finished this card and stepped back to take a peek at it! Scrumptious and yummy as well!!!

I used lots of delicious goodies on this design including patterned cupcake theme papers from DCWV, paper flowers & leaves from Prima, buttons & twine from PTI, satin flowers from Offray, glittered scalloped border from Doodlebug Designs and 'Pink Bubblegum' Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop! The picture doesn't even do this sweet little confection justice ... so sparkly and pretty IRL!

I also have some exciting news ... I used a challenge theme for this card entitled 'Cupcake' from a brand new weekly challenge blog called City Crafters Challenge Blog! Who can resist CUPCAKES??!!??

The design team has a few of my bloggy friends on it and they have invited me to be a Guest Designer with them the week of May 4th ... so mark your calendars and stay tuned! They have a really fab challenge planned for us all during week #3!!! I'll also be a sponsor for them that week with my Etsy shop and I'll be offering 12 yards of Shabby Vintage Seam Binding as the prize for the challenge winner that week :)

Lots of good stuff ... be sure to check them out and play!

Challenges I used for this design:

1. The Pink Elephant #63 - sketch
2. City Crafters Challenge Blog #1 - cupcake theme
3. Fussy & Fancy #9 - birthday card with a sweet treat theme

Live, Laugh & Love ...

Busy day today ... so just this one quick little post for you all before I call it a day. Off to an antique show tomorow and then dinner club in the evening with friends, so not sure I'll have time to get stampy ... but I can always *hope*!!!

I spritzed the white paper flower with some of SU's *new* SMOOCH spray to yellow it up. I'm {hearting} those smoochies :)

Challenges for this card:

1. Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #65 - sketch
2. Curtain Call #26 - color/white, basic grey, going grey, crushed curry

CHIC OF THE WEEK AT JUGS!!

I have the honor of being 'Chic of the Week' for the #29 challenge - make a project using *pink*, yellow, green and lavender - yummy!! Thank you, Maria :)
You can view my project 'Paper Roses For Mom' here.
I've received a bunch of requests for a tutorial for the paper roses, so here you go:
They are a bit fussy to assemble, but the end result is quite stunning! As you can see from my posts this week, I've become quite addicted to making my own paper flowers - this type here, the spiral roses and the multi-layered flowers cut with a die.
Now your turn ... give them a try and leave me a comment with a link to your post. I'd {love} to see what kind of paper flowers you create this week!

Birthday Wishes ...

Here's a pretty little birthday card for ya'll this morning! I used Prima's new vintage line of patterned papers, chipboard and glimmer mist from Tattered Angels, trinket pin from Maya Road, pearls from Melissa Frances and Vintage Winter White Shabby Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop! The handmade paper roses are made using the spiral technique - {heart} them!!!
Challenges:
2. The Color Room #2 - color/rose red, crushed curry, bermuda bay, white

Sketch For You To Try ...

I like saying that ... "Sketch For You To Try"! Now you say it! Fun, huh? Okay, enough silliness - I must have been breathing glue for too long today :)
This is my take on this week's sketch showcased by Jen DelMuro for SFYTT! Jen is right, it was an easy sketch and I love the way it turned out! Simple but very beautiful with the bright pink elements!
I used all Melissa Frances designer papers, embossing folder, rhinestone brad and Elements of Style stamp set from SU!, shabby tissue paper handmade flower (technique by Mona Pendleton this week over at Split Coast Stampers) and Primrose Cookie Dough Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy shop!

Just Because ...

Here's a sweet little creation for ya'll tonight made primarily with Melissa Frances products - gorgeous patterned papers, lovely pearls and resin trim piece!

I handmade those sweet paper roses using the spiral technique - I'm addicted to them as of late! One is made with Bashful Blue (SU!) cardstock and the smaller two are made with MF patterned papers - pearls inserted into the middles.

The Shabby Vintage Seam Binding is 'Pink Bubblegum' from my Etsy shop!

I'm submitting this little card for this week's challenge at Card Positioning Systems #163.

Double prizes at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM!

Don't miss your chance to win DOUBLE this week over at The Shabby Tea Room during the Week #6 sketch challenge!

Besides our WONDERFUL SPONSOR's prize donated by FROST IT PINK - an on-line boutique paper crafting shop:

We are also offering chances for another lucky participant to win 12 yards of Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy shop!

All you have to do is make a card or project based on this week's current sketch. We've provided a photo for inspiration. The more times you enter, the more chances you'll have to win one of the fabulous prizes!

Hop on over to the Tea Room and play to win :) Challenge DEADLINE is Sunday, April 25th at midnight EST.

Tea For Two!!

I am just in {love} with this sweet little vintage girl-ie tea party image! Makes me want to invite my best girls over and have a little tea party of our own!! This was a really fun card to make - lots of my favorites on here :)

I was bummed when I tried to link my project yesterday for TPDC challenge - black, white & orange - you'll see here and I realized I had missed the deadline for submissions. This past week has been hectic with my youngest son's prom, work, husband changing jobs, work, 3 stamp clubs and ... LIFE getting in the way of my stampy time - GEEZE ... what is that all about???

I was determined to get my project submitted this week and beat the deadline -- I don't think I've missed a week in the Cafe since I found their neat challenge blog several months ago :(

I used DSP's from Cosmo Cricket (sponsoring the prize over at The Shabby Tea Room next week!) and K & Co, Tea For Two stamp set from PTI, paper doilie that I spritzed with silver shimmer mist from SU!, trinket pin from Maya Road, leaves from Prima, metal tag from SU! and some Oatmeal Cream Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy shop. The 3 sweet little paper roses are handmade using the spiral technique and then I spritzed them with some Turquoise Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

So, here are the challenges I used to create this little sweetie pie:

1. The Play Date Cafe #26 - color/silver or gray, cream, clay & turquoise
2. Card Patterns #60 - sketch
3. Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog #22 - sewing (I sewed the lace doilie border to the card base)
4. KL Stampin' & Scrappin' #26 - bling!

2S4Y ... bonus!

This is my submission for the bonus sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You this week! I love that sweet vintage girl-ie with all her 'friends'!

I handmade the paper roses using the spiral cut technique and then scrumpling them.

The Shabby Vintage Seam Binding is 'Primrose Cookie Dough' from my Etsy shop.

Nite :)

Paper Roses for Mom ...

We learned how to make these GORGEOUS paper roses last night at stamp club -- thanks Amy! We used the Large Flower punch in the Occasions Mini, distressed the cardstock, punched out 5 flowers for these 2 roses, used the spritzing tool to add texture and depth and then proceeded to cut, fold, curl and paste. They were pretty tedious ... but SO worth the end result!! I just love them to pieces! I added some more yummy embellies and will give this bookmark as a Mother's Day present, although I think my MIL will want to hang it somewhere for display rather than use it in a book as a page saver :)
Challenges for this project:
1. JUGS #29 - color/pink, green, lavender & optional yellow

First Holy Communion ...

My youngest neice, Jillian, who lives in FL is making her First Holy Communion this weekend, so I needed a card to send to her with her gift. I found this sweet vintage image and knew it would work for a pretty little card for a young girl :) The girl in the picture has a dress with lavender in it and she is holding flowers that are yellow -- the JUGS color challenge for this week jumped out at me for this image! The girls even used a inspiration picture from a little girl's room - so sweet!

Challenges I used for this cutie pie card:

1. Crazy 4 Challenges #33 - sketch
2. JUGS #29 - color/lavender, pink, green and optional yellow
3. KL Stampin' & Scrappin' #26 - Bling!
4. Cute Card Thursday #108 - texture

I hope Jillian likes the card Aunt Debbie made for her!!!

Moments ...

Oooohhhh ... another fun one this afternoon that is SO much prettier IRL than the picture! Lot's of delicious texture piled high with embellies! I got to use a soon-to-be released set from SU! called 'Elements of Style' on this project - I stamped the Pink Pirouette cardstock with one of the stamps from the set in Melon Mambo to create handmade DSP! Then I added the sentiment stamped in black - again from this set.

I cut half of a Top Note die with my Big Shot and embossed it with the polka dot folder. I textured and distressed the edges of the Pink Pirouette and Black papers. I added a few gorgeous embellies from my baskets, including an adorable polka dot embossed butterfly cut with an Embosslits SU! folder and a snippet of Cake Crumbs Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy shop - so yummy :)

Here are the challenges I used to create this little lovely:

1. 2 Sketches 4 You #50 - sketch
2. Easy Breezy Kewl - color/black, kraft, melon mambo, pink pirouette
3. Our Creative Corner - butterflies
4. KL Stampin' & Scrapin' #26 - bling!
5. Crafty Creations #64 - distressing
6. Paper Sundaes #14 - no people
7. Cute Card Thursday #108 - texture

Enjoy!

For You ...

Ooohhhh ... this card is so pretty IRL!! So much gorgeous texture and lovely elements!

Here are the challenges I used to create this design:
1. Taylored Expressions #109 - sketch
2. The Color Dare #64 - old olive, summer sun, certainly celery, very vanilla
3. Our Creative Corner - butterflies
4. Crafty Creations #64 - distressing
5. KL Stampin' & Scrappin' #26 - bling!
6. Cute Card Thursday #108 - texture
7. Paper Sundaes #14 - no people

Black & White - meets Orange!

Well, it feels good to get back into my craft room after taking the past 5 days off. The time off was not on purpose, life just got in the way -- work, my son's prom, work and hosting stamp club here at my house this month :)
I feel like my mojo has gone on vacation, so I need to fire myself back up and get inspired. I spent the morning visiting lots of my favorite challenge blogs and catching up on what I've missed the past few days.

The color combo over at Stamptacular Sunday this week is black & white/penguin! I found the current sketch at Get Sketchy and when I began to design with it, I found it very challenging (I guess that's why they call it a 'challenge'!). It's such a CAS sketch, but still I had a hard time wraping my mind around it for some reason.
When all was said and done, a very CAS design that actually met many current challenges out there in our wonderful blogland this week.
Give some of these a try and leave me a comment -- I'd love to peek at your creations!
Challenges I used for this card:

1. Stamptacular Sunday #55 - color/black & white - penguin
2. Get Sketchy #34 - sketch
3. Cute Card Thursday #108 - texture (distressing & chunky glitter)
4. Crafty Creations #64 - distressing
5. KL Stampin' & Scrappin' #26 - BLING (well, that's easy peesy for me!)

Picture Perfect Creations - Week #9!

Here is my little submission for this week's color challenge over at Picture Perfect Creations #9 - Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Brilliant Blue & Garden Green.
I used the new, soon-to-be released Mostly Vintage Decor Stencil from SU! and sponged Bashful Blue around it for a soft, beautiful design. The stamp sets are Great Friend, Jane's Type Alphabet & Petal Pizzazz. I used White Bridal Specialty DSP for the flower and strip. The vellum butterfly was cut with the Embosslits Butterfly folder and the ribbon is White Taffeta.
The handmade paper flower was die cut with a Tim Holtz die and then shabbied and inked - 3 Brilliant Blue brads in the middle. The lace doilie punch is Martha Stewart, trinket pin is Maya Road, button & twine is PTI, glittered chipboard heart and blue polka dot DSP is Melissa Frances.
Now hop on over to PPC to see what the other DT members have created for this pretty color combo this week :)

The Shabby Tea Room - Week #6!

Here is the photo inspiration for this week's challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room - "Sketch This". We were to create a card or project this week based on this sketch layout. Using these colors is optional. Here is my take ...

I took the challenge 'literally'!!! I grabbed a bunch of my Doodlebug Designs papers and the brightest SU! supplies I could find, my Cricut with several cartridges and went to town. When I showed my husband and sons (which usually I get zero reaction from them regarding my handmade projects - they barely glance away from the TV!), they all were very impressed that I just about duplicated the canvas painting that is hanging in my craft room!
It was super fun to make ... totally neat to be able to duplicate from my stash of supplies.
Now you're turn ... give this super fun challenge a try! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

April Club Cards ...

Here are the two projects I will be making with my club gals this month ... trying to use some of those 'precious' colors, ribbons and accessories that will be retiring soon {sigh}. I will miss so many of the outgoing colors. Guess I'll have to enjoy them while they're still around!!!
The second card is inspired by my stampy friend and fellow Shabby Tea Room DT member, Jill Hilliard! The 'Thank You' stamp set is one of Jill's favs and by seeing all the wonderful designs she has created with this stamp, she convinced me to purchase it and give it a try!
It may just work perfectly for those 75 or so thank you notes I'll need to 'whip together' for my son's graduation this year!!! Have to design a CAS card for that one for sure :)
Enjoy!

No Stampin' ... PROM day!!!

Busy and exciting day yesterday ... no time to stamp for me :( I worked most of the day, so I spent Friday cleaning the house and prepping for an open house on Saturday with my gourmet food business. Home, change quick and host the prom kids for pictures and limo pick up!
This is my 'baby boy' ... my youngest son, Justin, (18 years old) attended his Sr. Prom last night with his girlfriend, Sierra and 7 of his closest friends. Everyone met at our house for flowers, pictures and the limo. The kids looked wonderful -- where does the time go? Seems like 2 years ago his was just a baby and now he'll be off to college this August!
We had so many people here, the cars were parked around the block -- parents, grand parents, aunts, neighbors and friends! The weather was just about as perfect as perfect can be - 80 degrees, sunny, blue sky, a little breeze and no humidity -- THANK YOU, GOD!!!
Between myself and all the other moms, we must have taken 1,000 pictures of these precious kids of ours!!! The kids were good troopers - never complaining ... until I mentioned that I thought my husband and I would go out for dinner after they left and we might like to eat at the same restaurant they were dining at!!! We were voted off the island ... and of course I was just kidding, but I had to throw that in there and see what they'd say (giggle)!
Before we knew it, the girls had their corsages, the boys had their flowers, the pictures had been taken and they were all loaded into the SUV Limo and off they went ... Sr. Prom night -- what a magical time in their lives!
Mom and Dad waited up to 1 am for the limo to return all our precious kiddos back to our house and then sent them off on their respective ways back home. By time my son brought his girlfriend home and returned to our house, it was almost 2 am. I was soooo sleepy, but enjoyed being there for him when he got home so he could tell his dad and I all about his awesome night!
Next on the agenda ... GRADUATION!!! Gotta get busy on those invitations and party items!
Thanks for peeking at my handsome son and his friends today :) Proud Mama, that I am!!!

CAS ...

This is about as CAS as it gets for me (giggle)!! I'm a 'pile it high' and 'load it up' kind of gal when it comes to my paper crafting!!

Much to do getting ready for a big all-day vendor open house this Saturday with my 'real job' and trying to get the house in order ... my youngest has prom this Saturday evening and I'll have 10 kids and lots of parents here Saturday for pictures and limo pick up.

I also prepped today for two stamp clubs this Friday and Monday ... and also managed to get a few cards done for a few challenges!

Busy, busy, busy as usual ... but good :)

Here are the challenges I used to create this 'cutie pie' card:

1. Card Patterns #59 - sketch
2. The Color Dare #63 - color/lovely lilac, tempting turquoise, pale plum
3. Stampin' Royalty #15 - KISS - Keep it Simple, Sweetie!
4. Papertake Weekly - 'cutie pie'
5. Crafty Creations #63 - Limited Editions - 1/DSP, 1/image, 1/embellie

I can't wait to see your creations!

Oh My Creative Buttons!!

I am submitting this cutie pie design for the Embellish Magazine buttons & color challenge - yellow, pink, turquoise, black and to use buttons in creative ways! This colorful, bright and cheery card just simply makes me smile! The buttons are vanilla, chocolate and strawberry 'ice cream' with glitter sugar sprinkles on them. Everything is glitterd - the buttons, the words cut with my Cricut machine and the cute little party hat too! The DSP is delicious - from Doodlebug Designs!
A super {sweet} treat :) Enjoy!!

Just a sentiment ...

This is such a CAS card ... I feel like it's not 'done'! I guess they all can't be vintage/shabby!!
The gals over at Pile it On challenged us this week to create a design using just a sentiment and embellies - no image! Easier said than done! Well, when I visited the Get Sketchy site and saw their current sketch challenge, it all fell into place. Just circles and just a sentiment ... and just done!
What do ya' think??
Challenges I used for this design:
1. Get Sketchy #33 - sketch
2. Color Q #28 - color/ruby red, regal rose, pumpkin pie, bermuda bay, whisper white
3. Pile it On #14 - 'say it with words' /sentiment and embellies - no image
Have a peek on the sidebar of the Pile it On blog ... they've highlighted The Shabby Tea Room under their Monday Suggested Challenges :)
Thanks gals!!!

'Wheeeeeee' ...

I'm going to miss these super cute and vibrant colors from the Stampin' Up! line when they retire at the end of June :(

Isn't this little PI girlie from My Favorite Things just precious??!!

2. Curtain Call #25 - color/only orange, green galore, yo yo yellow, pixie pink, whisper white
3. Crafty Creations #62 - paper piecing
4. Paper Sundaes #13 - make a scene

Red/White/Black/Kraft - yum!

Here is my submission for this week's color challenge over at Embellish Magazine - red, white, black & kraft!! This week's challenge is color with a twist -- party theme!!
I was asked last Friday by a very good friend to create some party invitations for her grandmother's 90th (OMG!) birthday party!! When I saw the Embellish challenge this week, I knew it would be a perfect spring board of inspiration for my friend's grandmother's invites!
The Shabby Vintage Seam Binding is one of the new colors - Cake Crumbs - added to my Etsy Shop the other day - scrumptious!
What do ya' think? Pretty cute, huh? The second card was also inspiration - it was a card we made at our monthly club -- {love} that vintage paper flower!!! I'll be sending that one to 'nana' for sure :)
