Monochromatic ...

Such a lovely color inspiration ... purples are usually not the first color I reach for when I'm designing a project (which is strange as purple is so close to my fav - pink), but this one works!! Mona hit a 'home run' again this week with her choice of colors for inspiration at The Play Date Cafe! I always like to begin each project with a sketch and a color inspiration and then add on lots of layers from there!
I got to play with some new toys that arrived in the mail today - hot off the press SU! goodies which will be released in May with the launch of the new Summer Mini Catty :) Some of the new products and standard favorites I used to create this card are: Rough Type & Of The Earth stamp sets, Presto Patterns Specialty DSP, Mini Vintage Tags, Blossom Party Big Shot Die, Scalloped Border Punch; the colors I used were Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla (all SU!). Additionally, I used Damask Designs stamp set (PTI), trinket pin (Maya Road), pearls (Melissa Frances) and a brand new shade of Shabby Vintage Seam Binding that will hopefully be posted along with 4 more *new* colors in my Etsy shop over the weekend - I think this one will be called Lovely Lilac! That will make 15 available colors - so delicious!! Gotta get cooking in the kitchen with my tea bath again :)
The challenges I used to create this little lovely are as follows:

2. The Play Date Cafe #24 - color/plum, lavender, cream
3. KL Stampin' & Scrapin' - image/sentiment, 2 DSP's, 3 embellies
4. Cute Card Thursday #107 - monochromatic
5. Stamptacular Sunday #53 - 'sugar and spice'

This is beautiful Debbie! Purple is my favourite colour to wear but I find that I use it so rarely in cardmaking or scrapping.

Your other card was all spice, but this card is definitely all sugar! Gorgeous color combination and pretty flower and bow! You can't get much more girly than that! Thanks for playing with us at SSC - again! Barb

I love this card. The ribbon and the flower first caught my eye. But all the different mat sizes and patterns work so well together. Great color combo too!spur
